Brazilian rosewood back & sides on this Slope D vintage Gallagher guitar
Spruce top
According to Don at Gallagher Guitars:
The first two G-70, 12 fret necks had model designations of G - 70M. I think it is a 1967 or 1968 model. There were 2 Brazilian rosewood 12 frets made in the first seven 12 frets.
Ivoroid body, fretboard & headstock bindings
Ebony fretboard with diamond & square MOP inlays
Ebony bridge
Fine herringbone rosette & top purfling
Faux tortoiseshell pickguard
MOP builder headstock logo
Grover tuning machines
Strap pin in neck, end pin inside case
Appears to be the original hardshell case
The guitar has wear appropriate for the age of the instrument
We repaired 3 side cracks on intake. There is plenty of finish checking on the guitar and normal nicks from playing over the years
The tone is very impressive, it really sounds like an old guitar - expansive and explosive when needed, but it also responds to a light touch as you can hear in our videos and sound samples
